Your Media We are surrounded by and use media every day of our lives. One minute we’re on the internet, the next we’re listening to music on an MP3 player or watching a film. We use several types of media at the same time - sometimes for fun, at other times to stay updated with the news, on Facebook, Twitter, via email and text messages. But what exactly characterizes the media that surrounds us, what are they able to do and how do we use them? This book aims to give the reader an insight into the complexity we see in our media today. Some media work linearly and are easy to see and read - you know intuitively who the sender is and who is receiving. With other media, on the other hand, it is far more complex. But nevertheless it is something we have to deal with as the media fills up more and more of our world.
This book is designed in such a way that it can be used at several educational levels in English, Communication and Social Studies classes in upper secondary or high school, as well as further education colleges and adult education centres, or in interdisciplinary courses and projects related the topics of English, Communication and Social Studies.
