George R.R. Martin is the author of fourteen novels, including five volumes of A SONG OF ICE AND FIRE, several collections of short stories and numerous screen plays for television drama and feature films. He lives in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

    Couldn't watch it cos of all the blood and stuff but read the book and it kept me wanting to read and finish it. Very good book. It took me a while but I got there!

    What happened followed the characters well, but they were boring and unrealistic aside from 2 or 3. I would say from most reviews that it was good but reading it, there was far too much nonsense that made the book carry on and be longer. A disappointing read

  • What's with mistakes

    In this modern day of human and computer spelling and grammar checks, I expect a better read than this. Obvious errors which have nothing to do with usage of the "old" English language; just poor editing. The numerous errors are consistent throughout series of books. Seriously, misspelling Targaryen without the T and in bold capital letters is shameful.

    Wow. I'm only a bit into it, but it is pretty fantastic, I'm actually not into books at all, it has to be very VERY good to interest me, which this does. If you're a fan of the TV show I highly recommend you get it, but I'd also recommend that you get the free sample, see if you like that first. If you're a gamer, it's like Skyrim in your head and if you're a fan of the TV show - it's like the show in your head
