About the author

Ant Middleton is the front man for Channel 4’s hit show, SAS: Who Dares Wins. Born in Portsmouth and raised in rural France, Ant set his sights on a career in the armed forces and didn’t stop striving until he achieved his goal. Over the course of his career he has served in the Special Boat Service, the Royal Marines and 9 Parachute Squadron Royal, achieving what is known as the ‘Holy Trinity’ of the UK’s Elite Forces.

    Before reading the book I had a totally different idea of who I thought Ant was, he has certainly moulded his own life and come through adversity. Having said that I didn’t feel a strong connection after reading through his story, all of his examples and snippets of war stories left much to be desired and mostly centred around him pulling the strings as a leader from afar. He joined and passed out as a royal marine commando and mentioned one story that didn’t really pack a punch. Love watching him in action on the TV but I really wish he would have put more into a book which costs more than it delivered. I have like to put a book down feeling satisfied.... this left me disappointed

    I usually start books and either don’t finish them or take forever. This book had me from the beginning and I couldn’t wait to finish reading it. It is an honest account of his experiences and the leadership lessons he learnt along the way. It helped me make sense of some things I had observed in my own life but could not make sense of. I highly recommended read for anyone.
