About the author

Sunday Times bestselling author Mhairi McFarlane was born in Scotland in 1976 and her unnecessarily confusing name is pronounced Vah-Ree.

After some efforts at journalism, she started writing novels and her first book, You Had Me At Hello, was an instant success. She’s now written four books and she lives in Nottingham with a man and a cat.

    Couldn’t even get through to the middle of it... Edie was just a really boring, unlikeable character; even after the wedding fiasco when she became an ‘oh no, poor little me’ type.

    I absolutely loved every page of this book, expect the last. I really became attached to the characters and just one more “happily ever after”line would have completed this book perfectly. Other than the disappointing end I absolutely loved this book & feel it has a bit of a 50 shades vibe. I am yet to read the authors other books but will not hesitate if they are as good as this one.

    This is the first one I’ve read by this author but it was really good. I couldn’t put it down until I’d finished. The ending was good but not excellent although I hate when I finish a book. So thumbs up will be reading more by this author.

    I have just read 3 of this author's books, finishing with Who's That Girl. Really enjoyable read. Loved the characters. The only negative with this book is the cliff hanger ending with nothing to sat that it will be continued. I feel like I've lived these character's lives and want to know the rest!! Brilliant author and recommend every one of her books.

    Mhairi Mcfarlane is a fantastic author, this is the third book I've read of hers and it's honestly been (as overused as the phrase is) joy to read. She's so insightful I often find myself highlighting sentences every page or so because I relate to what she's saying- she has a real gift for putting things into words. I've read books of a the same genre and theme before but I can honestly say whilst I have enjoyed others as quick reads, Mhairi's make for actually interesting and gripping reading. I can't think of other books that have reviews that say 'laugh out loud' which I have then read and actually laughed out loud. She's so sharp and witty and really knows how to create an interesting storyline. There's always so much more depth to her books that the iBooks blurbs let on and I think it's a brilliant undersell. Such a fantastic writer. I cannot wait for her to publish more!
